They got me in quickly without an appointment

I got an old Honda and took it to Honest 1 for a once over. Paid 140 for the comprehensive diagnostic where they said there was an oil leak. Paid another 100 for a dye test to find out exactly where the oil leak was. Paid another 200 for them to fix the oil leak. When I got it home it was dripping oil on my driveway. I took it back and they said it was just residual oil, they cleaned it up (I guess they didn't the first time?), and it was good. It continued to leak quite a bit so I took it in again. This was now the 4th time I had it up there. This time they said the oil was leaking in two other places and they don't know why it wasn't discovered the other two times. They quoted me another 423 dollars. I just fixed it myself. The reason for only three stars is because I paid 240 dollars just to know what was causing the oil leak and not only was it not checked thoroughly enough, but it was worse when I got it back. Fine, I get it. But I had to insist there was still a problem and while initially everyone was very nice, I felt that the tone became condescending very quickly. I'm not okay with that. Overall the place is fine, but I didn't feel good about my experience there.

I would highly recommend these folks. I was in a bind as I had a massive oil leak and the Mercedes dealership was unable to get me in. Chris was extremely kind and was able to have someone look at my car pretty quickly and determine what the issue was. Unfortunately because of a part unavailability issue, they were unable to fix the car but I was able to give Mercedes’ that info and they are working with me. I will definitely use these guys for any further needs.

I made an appointment online indicating exactly what I wanted done, replace right front axle assembly and do an alignment. First off when I got there, they told me it's going to be a long time because one of the techs just quit, no problem. Then the tell me it's going to cost $139 to diagnose my problem, I already told them the problem, why do they need to try and charge for that?Then they tell me it's going to be another hour because the part is in Charlotte, why I made the appointment 5 days prior, they should already have the part. I kust feel they were trying to get an extra charge in for something I already did for them, then string me along. Very unprofessional and disappointed in them, I never had any problems in the past.

Honest-1 has gained a new customer in me. It’s always difficult and stressful finding an auto-mechanic that won’t gouge you over prices. But like their name says, they do honest work. As my car ages, they will be an invaluable resource to keep it running smoothly.
